David and Annabelle wish everyone a peaceful and prosperous 2010
The snow came and the dale had a white Christmas picturesque but travel was disrupted to say the least forcing us to close when we would normally be open.
Our official re-opening day is Saturday 9th January but we will be in and out most days before that so please use the mobile to contact us if you are visiting so that we can make sure you don't have a wasted journey.
Its just the weather for chestnuts and toasted crumpets and teacakes. We have a selection of handforged chestnut roasters and toasting forks. The toasting forks are excellent for marshmallows too and come in handy for summer barbeques.
Forthcoming events
The next outside demonstration at Temple Newsam will be on Thursday 18th February when David will be 'bangin an clangin' in the forge at Home Farm.
OPENING TIMES
Because some of our commission work takes us 'on site' and we also need to collect our fuel etc, we are not able to keep exactly regular hours. In the winter we tend to open the shop Wed,Thur Fri and Saturday gradually extending to the remaining days as we move into summer. Please phone first (mobile is probably best) if you are making a special trip and we will try to ensure that someone is here to assist you.
In the meantime the following may help (with acknowledgement to the Bamborough Shop)
Open most days about 10 or 11am, occasionally as early as 7am – But some days as late as 12 or 1pm
We close about 5.30 or 6pm, occasionally 4 or 5pm, but sometimes as late as 11 or 12 pm.
Some days or afternoons we aren’t here at all – and lately we’ve been here just about all the time. Except when we’re somewhere else.
But we should be here then too!!
